What is Sedation Dentistry?
Sedation dentistry is the use sedatives to help patients relax before, during and after dental treatment. We recommend sedation for patients who feel very nervous about dental procedures, or who have extensive treatment requirements, time constraints, and/or a severe gag reflex.
Sedation Options at Scott 72 Dental Centre
Oral Medication
Oral sedatives are a flexible option, as they comes in the form of pills or liquid that you can administer yourself. You can take them the night before your appointment to help you sleep, as well us up to one hour before your appointment to reduce any anxiety you feel anxiety in anticipation of and during the treatment.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) is an inhaled gas that helps quell anxiety. The gas levels can easily be adjusted to your needs throughout your appointment.
Is Sedation Right For You?
It's important to us that you feel comfortable and relaxed during your dental appointment, as that means you'll be able undergo the dental care you need safely and comfortably.

- Strong gag reflex
