How does professional teeth whitening work?

How does professional teeth whitening work?

If you want to brighten your smile and restore your confidence, professional teeth whitening may be right for you. Here's how the teeth whitening process works at our North Delta dental office.

Teeth naturally darken as we age. Taking certain medications, smoking, and frequently enjoying dark coloured food and drinks such as curry, cola, coffee, and tea can also discolour teeth over time.

A simple and non-invasive way make your smile bright again is professional teeth whitening.

Here at Scott 72 Dental Centre, we offer our patients custom teeth whitening systems that you can use at home to help keep your smile looking its brightest.

Our Professional Teeth Whitening Process

When you visit our office for professional teeth whitening we will create custom whitening trays fitted perfectly to your unique smile.

When your whitening trays are ready, we will also provide you with enough whitening gel to complete your first treatment.

The whitening trays will fit snugly over your teeth, and hold the whitening gel in place on the surface of your teeth.

You'll wear the trays with the whitening solution twice a day for 30 minutes over a two week period, or longer depending on the degree of staining and how white you want your teeth to be. Your dentist will provide you with instructions to meet your needs.

If you experience tooth sensitivity while whitening your teeth, just cut back on the number of hours you wear your trays or take a day off in between your whitening treatments.

Once you have finished your whitening treatment be sure to store your trays in a safe place. You can reuse your custom fitted trays again for touch-ups. All you will need to do is contact our office when you require more whitening solution.
